Consensus named one of the UK's Best Workplaces 2024

We’re delighted to announce that Consensus has been named on the UK’s Best Workplaces™ 2024 List.

People are at the heart of everything we do at Consensus, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs to lead happy and fulfilling lives. And as an employer, it is our commitment to provide the very best workplaces for those colleagues who dedicate every day to providing the very best support for the people in their care. To have undergone a rigorous assessment that independently recognises our great workplace culture is something we’re truly proud of.

Making the List

Great Place to Work® analysed confidential employee survey feedback on trust and reaching their full human potential, as well as employees’ experiences of innovation, company values, and leadership effectiveness across departments and seniority levels. They then used these data insights to benchmark the effectiveness of companies’ employee value propositions against the culture their employees actually experience. Only those businesses who achieve the highest scores after evaluation receive Best Workplaces™ status.

To have achieved this recognition in our first year of being a Great Place to Work® demonstrates our commitment to inclusion, quality, and growth – and with consistent innovation, improvement and involvement from our teams and colleagues across the organisation, we cannot wait to see what the future holds for everyone at Consensus.

Building a Best Workplace

Since receiving our Great Place to Work certification 12 months ago, as well as being a Best Workplace for Women 2023, we’ve been hard at work implementing new initiatives, benefits and policies based on colleagues’ feedback. Click Here to read more about what we’ve been up to.

Confidential colleague feedback provided invaluable insight into what our team members believe makes Consensus a Best Workplace:

  • Great Culture: We make people feel welcome (85%) in an environment where people can be their authentic selves (90%), with 82% of colleagues feeling treated as a full member of the organisation, regardless of their position.
  • Great Care: The work we do here at Consensus has a special meaning, with 84% of colleagues agreeing that working here is more than just a job. Colleagues feel a sense of pride in what we accomplish together (82%).
  • Great Opportunities: We ensure that everyone has the opportunity to develop and grow, and 84% of colleagues confirmed they are offered training and development to further themselves professionally, evidenced by over 100 promotions in 2023.

On making the UK’s Best Workplaces™ List, CEO Paula Keys said: “Consensus is a Great Place to Work because of the great people who work here and their determination to make a difference every day. I’m immensely proud of the team for working together to create an environment and a culture that is deserving of a place on the Best Workplaces™ list.

“Our exceptional people put the needs, aspirations, and outcomes of those we support at the forefront of every day and that is only possible because of the positive culture, the focus on wellbeing and the team working ethos that we have developed. I’m delighted that Consensus has achieved this recognition, and excited at the opportunity to move forward with our commitment to being a Great Place to Work, and one of the UK’s Best Workplaces™.”
