Victor's day of work at Rowan House

Say hello to the latest member at Rowan House (albeit, if only for a day!) Victor. Participating in his schools ‘Take Your Child to Work Day’, Service Manager and mum Kasia invited Victor to join the team for the day, spending time with the people we support at Rowan House. Designed to give students an insight into the workplace and help them to appreciate the importance of transferable skills such as teamwork, organisation, and flexibility, the whole home were excited to welcome Victor.

And well, Victor certainly left an incredibly positive impression at Rowan House, as one of the gentlemen hasn’t stopped asking when Victor will be back… which of course Victor promised he would be.

Spending the day supporting people and learning new skills, Victor’s day included lots of laughter and valuable experience, where he…

  • Updated Rowan Houses ‘Imagination Station’ with new pictures
  • Helped clean and got stuck into the admin tasks
  • Headed out to the local swimming pool, supporting people to smile and laugh all day long

Learning new skills and having an infectious impact on the whole of Rowan House, Victor shared “I am going to think about my apprenticeship because spending time with these ‘guys’ was great, I had a lot a fun.

Well, we’re sure you’ll be welcomed back any time with open arms Victor – and a big thank you for helping out for the day!
