Who We Support

At Consensus, we support people with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs and positive behaviour support needs to lead happy and fulfilling lives. We understand and embrace everyone’s unique qualities, which means individualised, person-centred support expertly tailored to every individual’s goals, needs and aspirations.

With a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of supporting people with disabilities, our teams are made up of skilled, qualified, and experienced care professionals – all of whom receive specialised, in-depth and ongoing training with opportunities for continuous development – always putting the people we support at the heart of what we do.

We’re not just a provider of care. We’re a community that celebrates diversity and embraces individuality – dedicated to providing safe, welcoming environments where people can feel valued and respected.

Learning Disabilities

The support we deliver is unique to every individual and takes into account their needs and challenges, but also their strengths and goals. Learning disabilities will often affect a person’s ability to understand and process information – impacting communication and independence that make day-to-day life that little bit trickier. We’re committed to supporting people in their everyday moments, and work with them to achieve their extraordinary moments too.

Autism

The challenges autistic people face vary significantly from one person to the next, but it may be that support is required with communication, interaction and processing sensory information. We recognise the unique strengths and challenges of each individual, which is why we carefully tailor our support to meet the needs of those who live in our services. This enables people to embrace all life has to offer and reach their full potential.

Complex Needs

For some of the people we support, their needs may be more complex, presenting additional challenges that can impact their quality of life due to cognitive needs, physical needs and behaviours some may find challenging. But at Consensus, we are dedicated to supporting every individual to have an amazing quality of life, with the right care, the right support and the right environment to truly flourish.

Prader-Willi Syndrome

A rare genetic condition that affects the part of the brain responsible for hormone management, appetite control and emotional regulation, individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome may also experience development delays, learning difficulties and behavioural challenges.

A leading provider in Prader-Willi Syndrome care, Consensus have over 40 years’ experience supporting people with PWS and understand the unique challenges that people living with this condition face on a daily basis. We provide tailored, specialist support in our PWS specialist services, enabling people to lead happy and fulfilling lives.
