2024 has been another busy and remarkable year for Consensus and thanks to the commitment of all our colleagues across Consensus, we have achieved so much and supported so many people to flourish in their forever homes.
From launching our new values, shaped by people across Consensus, to increasing our recognition as a UK’s Great Place to Work, it’s been another unstoppable year of making memories, creativity, and kindness in every corner of our organisation.
Reflecting on a small glimpse of our wonderful achievements in 2024, here’s what we’ve achieved…
- We have been certified as a Great Place to Work for the 2nd year running, and have been recognised as a UK Best Workplace for Women, Healthcare, Wellbeing and Development – some for a second year running!
- We launched some great new programmes to support Service Managers, Deputies and Senior Support Workers & Team Leaders in their career development through the Consensus Leadership Academy. We are already seeing people being promoted into new roles as a result and hearing great feedback about how these programmes are supporting colleagues to enjoy their existing roles. Supporting colleagues with their professional growth so they shine in their roles.
- We have grown! Since the autumn of 2023 we have welcome 57 new flats and apartments into the Consensus group, supporting even more people to flourish in their forever homes. And… we have another 67 in the pipeline!
- Our Quality ratings across CQC, CIW, & CIS has remained above the sector average, with 92% of our services being rated good and outstanding – something we’re especially proud of as an organisation.
- We introduced new platforms to support our services to work digitally – saving time filling out paper records, improving our carbon footprint and waste, and improving our reporting metrics to ensure quality is at the forefront of everything.
- 99% of Consensus have completed the Tier 1 Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training programme – learning about Oliver’s story to better ensure the people we support have their voices heard. Alongside the mandatory training, we have launched our tier 2 training, seeing 18 of the people we support working as co-trainers to further teach colleagues across Consensus.
- Our sustainability efforts have continued to grow with our ‘One Step at a Time’ campaign – recognising and crowning a Sustainability Champion every month for going above and beyond to work towards a sustainable future.
- We published our first ever Consensus Impact Report that reflects on highlights across the organisation – best quality of life, great place to work, and environments to flourish. Have a look HERE.
- We simplified our vision and updated our values to focusing on making every moment matter through kindness, commitment and creativity.
And finally, we saw more smiles than we can count – witnessing incredible every day and exceptional moments, big and small, it truly is a place where every moment matters.
And none of this would have been possible without the support of all our fantastic colleagues across the organisation – so thank you to every single colleague. The amazing work that goes on every day in our services and across our Central Support Teams makes Consensus a special place and allows us to offer a great quality of life for the people we support.
