With a team made up of over 70% women, it would take us all month to thank everyone for their dedication and awesomeness. We’re inspired by those around us every day – and we love sharing their stories and celebrating their achievements all year round.
So today, to celebrate the close of Careers Week alongside International Women’s Day, we’re talking about being a certified Best Workplace for Women.
We’ve been working hard to make sure that we are a place that women want to work and feel safe and happy, from introducing menopause support, offering adjustments around childcare or health appointments, and striving to create a culture where everyone can succeed. And we’re proud that, not only have we been able to deliver that for our colleagues, but that this accolade has come from their feedback and thoughts of Consensus.
Here’s what some of our colleagues had to say about being a Best Workplace for Women:
“Over the last four years, I’ve been going through a fertility journey that will be getting to the IVF stage soon. It’s been tough but my team, and Consensus have been more supportive than I ever expected. From being flexible so I can get to appointments, catch ups over a hot chocolate on a bad day and just being understanding they’ve been there the whole way.” – Sammy
“For me, I love coming to work and knowing every day is different. Being able to make a difference to the lives of the people we support makes me get out of bed every morning; and I have had so many opportunities to progress and develop with Consensus so now I’m a deputy manager and can help other people too.” – Angela
“In so many roles I’ve had in the past, there’s been this silent assumption that women don’t belong in leadership – but having so many role models here defying the social norm has pushed me to keep going and make my way there.” – Bee
“I’ve been at Consensus for 10 years and it’s been amazing to work for a company who both appreciate and acknowledge me for my strengths. I feel like I belong here.” – Melany
“I’ve grown so much in my career here because my team welcomed me with open arms. I’ve always been treated with kindness, and my ideas and vision has been met with respect. I know I’m trusted for my strengths and that has let me do amazing things.” – Monica
Thank you for sharing, keep being amazing, and here’s to many more years of continuing to be a Best Workplace for Women with you at our side.
