At Consensus, we love nothing more than to show appreciation to our colleagues for the work they do day in day out to make a difference in the lives of those we support. We believe that when people feel valued and recognised, it makes a real difference to our workplace – and to the care and support we provide. It’s not just about saying “thank you” for the big things; it’s about noticing all the everyday moments that add up to something great.
One of our favourite ways to show appreciation is with our Appreciation Postcards. These little cards have become a big deal for us – a simple, personal way to recognise each other’s efforts. Whether it’s a manager giving a shoutout for a job well done or a team member saying thanks to a colleague. We’re seeing them flying all around the place and cannot wait to see more.
(In fact, we think there may be some stashes running low given all the appreciation. Give us a shout if you need a top-up!)
What started with our CEO sending handwritten messages has grown into something that everyone’s embraced. We’ve seen teams get creative – some have set up appreciation jars, others have used the postcards at team meetings, and many have taken to social media to share their appreciation more widely. It’s been great to see how these little notes have helped us stay connected and positive.
Alongside the postcards, we’ve got our Reward and Recognition Platform on the Hapi App, which makes it even easier to show appreciation. Here our colleagues can send eCards to anyone anywhere in the organisation with a personal message, giving a virtual high-five whenever you want. Our leaders have a few eVouchers knocking around on here for those extra-special moments, too – just another way to say ‘we see you, and we appreciate what you do.’
These everyday gestures, whether physical or digital, help us to build a culture of appreciation throughout Consensus.
Whilst we love the little achievements, we also know it’s important to celebrate the big ones, too. That’s where our new Making Moments Matter Awards come in. These awards recognise colleagues who truly go above and beyond – whether they’re making a difference in the day-to-day with our Every Moment Awards, or doing something extraordinary to bag The Greatness Award.
