Ophir Road is a calm, relaxing home – but one where you’ll never be bored! The people that live here are all involved in running their own home, making decisions about food, decoration, cleaning and their much loved, very busy social calendar.
Everyone is encouraged to get out, learn new skills and take up new hobbies; including swimming, gym, boat rides, trampolining, bowling, snooker walks in the forest, trips to the beach , theatre, or even a relaxing trip into town for shopping and lunch – not to mention the amazing holidays!
When people aren’t out and about or visiting their family and friends, there is always someone ready to host a movie night, BBQ, or party – and people enjoy playing games in the communal areas, and having dinner together. The team bring a real focus of wellbeing into the support they offer, encouraging mindfulness and wellbeing for the people living here.

“The service supported people to live healthier lives and where possible, reduce their future needs for care and support. People had choice and freedom in how they spent their time and were able to access all areas of the service, including the garden. Staff encouraged people to set goals and develop new skills. Staff also supported people to go on holidays, and everyone enjoyed their time away; numerous photographs captured these moments, showing many smiling faces."
