Who We Are
Our Commitment
Last summer, something special happened in Wales. A simple idea from Support Worker Courtney & her co-host Kari turned into a full-blown, joy-filled Sports Day that brought together services from across Wales and the West. It was so successful, there was only one question left at the end of it… when are we doing this again?
Fast forward twelve months, and Courtney has answered that question in style – delivering another spectacular day of activities, laughter, and unforgettable moments, proving that this much-loved event is here to stay.
Once again, Courtney made sure every single person – regardless of ability – could take part. Events ranged from wheelchair-friendly egg and spoon races and beanbag balancing challenges, to three-legged races (reserved for the more daring managers and support workers!) and the inventive “Grand National” – a game where toy animals, pool noodles and string became the ultimate test of speed and skill.
The line-up also included basketball hoops, javelin throwing, and plenty of races that got the whole crowd cheering. The mix of competitive spirit and unitedness meant there was never a dull moment.
While the games themselves were fantastic, it was the smiles, laughter, and spontaneous moments of joy that truly made the day shine. From the sheer determination in the wheelchair races (moving at the speed of light!), to the chaos during the three-legged dash, the atmosphere was electric.
And of course, no event is complete without a dedicated Health & Safety officer. This year, that important role was taken on by David – one of the people we support – who donned his hard hat and high-vis jacket with pride. Whether he was keeping a watchful eye on proceedings or offering an encouraging thumbs-up, David made sure the day ran smoothly (and safely!).
Wales Sports Day has quickly become more than just an event – it’s a tradition in the making. The creativity, energy, and care that go into planning it are a testament to the passion of colleagues like Courtney, who bring ideas to life in ways that make a real difference.
If this year is anything to go by, Sports Day 2026 will be even bigger, bolder, and just as full of smiles. And if you’re wondering whether the “Grand National” will make a return – well, you’ll just have to come along and see for yourself!
