Our Commitment
Last year, we proudly launched our new brand with a simple yet powerful promise: Where Every Moment Matters. From the everyday moments to the exceptional ones – we embrace each day and celebrate every achievement along the way.
Since then, we’ve been working tirelessly behind the scenes to build on that promise, talking to colleagues, the people we support, families, and professionals. We want to ensure we truly embody that vision of being the provider where every moment matters, every single day.
As part of this work, we reflected on how we deliver on this.
Yes, we want to provide the best quality of life for the people we support. Yes, we want to be a great place to work for our colleagues, and yes, we want to grow in a sustainable way to help even more people live their best lives. But achieving this mission goes beyond the practicalities. It’s about how we show up every day….
And that’s where our values come in.
Our values have always been at the core of who we are as an organisation. And as much as we cherished every one of our 12 values, we discovered something that didn’t entirely surprise us: people couldn’t always remember them all. In fact, in conversations with colleagues, some admitted they didn’t even know how many values we had!
This got us thinking.
If people can’t recall our values, how can they truly live them in their daily work? We knew we had to simplify without losing the essence of who we are. So, we set out to streamline our values while staying true to Consensus.
From deep dives into our culture, to interviews with colleagues, to conversations with the people we support, and input from surveys and audits. We listened to what truly matters to the people that make Consensus what it is.
And here is the result. 3 values that not only define us today but will continue to guide us into the future.
Kindness, Commitment, and Creativity.
These values were chosen because they resonate with everyone – from the people we support to the colleagues who provide that support. They reflect not only who we are today but who we strive to be tomorrow. They are a promise that we will always act with kindness, stay committed to the people who rely on us, and embrace creativity in the way we work and grow.
Values are the compass that guide an organisation. They shape our culture, influence our actions, and reflect what we stand for. In a company like Consensus, where the work we do impacts real people – individuals whose lives can be deeply affected by every decision we make – values can’t be just words on a wall. They are lived. They have to be.
Values influence every interaction between our colleagues and the people we support. They drive how we make decisions, how we treat each other, and how we respond to challenges. Ultimately, they reflect what we care about most and the kind of organisation we strive to be.
Over the coming months, we’ll be diving deeper into each of these values—what they mean, how they guide us, and how you’ll see them in action across everything we do. From the way we support people to the way we celebrate our colleagues, Kindness, Commitment, and Creativity will continue to shape every part of Consensus.
