Launching our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Charter

At Consensus, we’re all about creating a space where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered. We believe that Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) aren’t just buzzwords—they’re the heart of our mission to make Consensus a Great Place to Work and to offer the best quality of life for the people we support.

And to ensure they’re not just buzzwords, we’ve launched our charter to demonstrate our commitment to EDI, and to give everyone at Consensus a clear plan for action, and accountability.

EqualityWe believe that everyone should have equal access to opportunities, resources, and support, regardless of their background or circumstances.

DiversityWe recognize and celebrate the richness of diversity in our workforce and the communities we serve.

InclusionWe aim to create a workplace where everyone feels they belong and can thrive.

Why is EDI important?

By embracing EDI, we’re not just doing the right thing – we’re setting ourselves up for greater success. A diverse and inclusive workplace is stronger, more creative, and more committed. On average, a third of our lives are spent at work, so we’re striving to create a workplace where every single person feels included and supported. Allowing every colleague to thrive in their career and feel comfortable in their working environment – we want colleagues to be their authentic selves.

Kindness at the Core

Our charter is underpinned by one of our core values: kindness. Kindness means treating each other with respect, empathy, and understanding. It’s about creating a supportive environment where everyone feels they belong and can thrive. By embedding kindness into our EDI efforts, we ensure that our actions are not just about compliance, but about genuinely caring for each other and building a positive, inclusive culture.

Ensuring Everyone takes Accountability

To ensure our EDI charter is intertwined throughout Consensus, we’ve been creating a comprehensive action plan where every colleague is accountable on driving and creating positive change. Taking steps to be a more inclusive working environment, we’ll be excitedly sharing these positive changes over the coming year.

Where Every Individual is Valued. Where Every Individual is Empowered. Where Every Individual is Respected.
