Who We Are
Our Commitment
Rollercoasters, laughter, and plenty of loud screams—Stuart, Aadil, and I had an unforgettable day riding all the rollercoasters (some more than once!) at Thorpe Park. Working remotely means I don’t get many chances to interact with colleagues in person, so when Service Manager Cara at King Edwards Grove jokingly invited me to join them at Thorpe Park after learning I’m an adrenaline junkie, I jumped at the opportunity. With Stuart always on the hunt for the biggest rides and struggling to find companions, it was a perfect match for us to team up.
Before heading to Thorpe Park, I was given a grand tour of King Edwards Grove, where I finally got to see in person the place I’ve seen in so many photos. Being welcomed with open arms, it was wonderful to meet the team face-to-face, putting smiles to the names I’ve heard so much about. It was a great chance to experience firsthand one of the many places our Central Support Office works so hard to assist every day.
As part of the tour, Russell eagerly shared his exciting plans for his upcoming trip to Disneyland, which left me wondering if Cara might let me tag along too! And before we set off for Thorpe Park, I had the pleasure of listening to the talented Octavius play ‘She’s Always a Woman’ on the piano. I’ve seen videos of his performances before, but hearing him live made the moment all the more emotional—he definitely succeeded in bringing a tear to my eye.
Finally, at Thorpe Park, the adrenaline junkie in me teamed up with Stuart, and we raced through the park, managing an impressive nine rides in total. Hyperia, the biggest rollercoaster, was so good we rode it twice! Aadil and Stuart, both veterans of the park, gave me the full tour and prepared me for the intensity of each ride. We finished off the day with a well-deserved beer for Stuart, while Aadil, despite his queasy stomach, kept the energy high.
For me, my usual 9-5 is working from home sat at my desk. I always get the pleasure of being sent everyone’s fantastic photos and stories of all the everyday and exceptional moments happening across Consensus, but to have the chance to be a part of one of them was truly special.
I want to thank Aadil for his infectious passion and for letting me tag along, Cara for organizing such a fantastic day, and Stuart for being the best scream partner on all those rides. It’s safe to say I’m already thinking about my next visit to see everyone at King Edwards Grove.
