David's Week Away

While the sunny days may be long gone, David is still thinking about his fabulous summer holiday. After talking with his family and support team, they booked a week away at the Thomas Centre in Lincolnshire; a holiday park tailored to people with autism and learning disabilities so he could enjoy the sand and sea knowing the support was there if he needed it.

David had visited before and was now feeling ready and prepared to take a longer break so he could pack in even more fun – once they were all packed, they set off a 120 mile journey. When they arrived, David recognised the park immediately and was almost ready to jump out of the car! It was time to settle into and David was excited they’d managed to book the apartment he’d stayed in before – so he was ready for a week of holiday excitement. David loves to swim, take walks in nature and spend time relaxing with games or movies so they’d picked the perfect spot.

He took to the pool like a fish to water, enjoying private swimming lessons and getting even more confident in the water followed by relaxing walks in the surrounding woodlands taking in the sounds and sights of nature. When he’d had enough relaxing, it was time to get an adrenaline rush with pedal go-karts and flexing his skills at table football, bowling  and snooker.

The team said David had an amazing time and had the biggest smile throughout the week – we love to see it!
