Who We Are
Our Commitment
What a fantastic day Paul had on his recent visit to Strawberry Field in Liverpool.
As an avid Beatles fan, visiting the Beatles museum would have been an unbelievable trip for Paul – but due to wheelchair inaccessibility within the dockyard, this has just never been possible. But that didn’t stop Terri and the team at Windsor Avenue from making dreams come true by finding an alternative (and just as amazing) way to immerse himself in a bit of Beatles history – a passion shared with dad Colin, who also joined us on the day.
Strawberry Field has been redeveloped by The Salvation Army, to give young people with learning disabilities the chance to succeed and honour the site that inspired John Lennon. They got to see the original piano John Lennon played, as well as other original memorabilia, and enjoyed interactive games and instruments.
“Since becoming the manager in 2018 and seeing the love and passion Paul has for The Beatles, I’ve been keen to arrange a trip of a lifetime. Strawberry Fields seemed perfect – and fitting with what we strive to achieve every day at Consensus, too.” said Service Manager, Terri. “Thank you to colleagues Lucian and Shanie, and to Paul M – another of our supported individuals – for sharing this amazing experience with Paul.”
