Belstead Mews Summer Festival

The summer holiday’s are over, but before the return to school the young people living in our Children’s Service Belstead Mews always like to end it in style. Welcoming guests from other services in Ipswich, as well as all our family and friends, everyone got together for a fabulous jungle-themed festival in the glorious sunshine.

People were dressed to impress with magnificent animal costumes like flamingos, parrots, bees and giraffes; made even more fun with face-painting in the garden. Everyone had a great time bouncing around on the bouncy castle, or trying to be the champion of the inflatable cash-grab games. And of course, no garden party is complete without a mouth-watering BBQ prepared by the team, completed with plenty of sweet treats and snacks to follow.

And that food was definitely needed to keep the party going as everyone danced, bounced and DJ’d the afternoon away before the highlight of the day – putting their very own area director Elliott, and support worker Chris in the dunk chair for a splash!

Manager Pat said, “We love having so many people over for fun and food – every day is like a party here but the actual parties are always the best!”

Making every moment matter, the day was spent making wonderful memories & fun for the people we support –  bringing services, friends, family, and colleagues together.
