“People told us they felt safe, staff were kind to them, they had dedicated keyworkers and they enjoyed planning and taking part in activities.”
An extract from Brighton Road’s recent CQC Inspection Report, we’re thrilled to share that they’ve achieved ‘Good’ in all 5 domains. Located in Purley, London, Brighton Road supports adults with learning disabilities to life fulfilling and amazing lives – achieving their goals.
Well done Service Manager Mavis and the team on the recent report, and thank you for making every moment matter for the people you support. Sharing her happiness at the rating, Mavis added;
“I am incredibly proud of the team and the people we support at Brighton Road for achieving a “Good” rating across all five areas of inspection. This outstanding accomplishment truly reflects the compassion, professionalism, and unwavering dedication demonstrated every day.
I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to all colleagues, our central office team, families, and stakeholders whose continued support, collaboration, and commitment made this success possible.”

Highlighting some of our stand-out comments, have a read of the report below;
Safe
- Staff provided care to meet people’s needs that was safe, supportive and enabled people to do the things that mattered to them.
- A person using the service showed us their room and told us, “I have all my things I like in my room, its nice.”
- The provider made sure there were enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff, who received effective support, supervision and development. They worked together well to provide safe care that met people’s individual needs.
Effective
- The registered manager told us people discussed what meals they would like to eat during residents’ meetings, and they went shopping with staff to purchase food items for the menu.
- People told us they had access to health care professional when they needed them. One person said, “When I need medical help, I just ask the staff.” Another person told us, “I get the care, support and treatment that I need and want.”
- Staff supported people to live healthier lives and where possible, reduce their future needs for care and support.
Caring
- People appeared comfortable in the presence of staff.
- We observed people were free to spend time doing the things they enjoyed. Some people travelled independently to places of interest for example to see family and friends or to watch a local football team and some people were supported to attend church on Sundays.
- Individual activities for people also included music sessions, cooking, lunches out, attending church services, yoga, domestic tasks, horse riding, movie nights and independent walks.
Responsive
- Staff had a very good understanding of people’s needs. They were able to tell us in detail about people’s individual needs and wishes and how people liked to be supported.
- One person told us “I have meetings with my keyworker, we talk about everything, things I want to do, like outings and going shopping.”
- Staff worked effectively with health and social care professionals to ensure people received joined up care provision and continuity.
- Staff understood their responsibility to ensure people experienced good outcomes tailored to their care and support needs and wishes.
Well-led
- A staff member told us, “I have had a good experience in coming here. The manager has always been there for me. Whatever I need I can ask her for.”
- They worked towards an inclusive and fair culture by improving equality and equity for people who worked for them. The registered manager told us they offered flexible shift patterns to support parents with young children.
